Advanced Shell Construction
The S-R7 features an advanced multi-composite shell construction using pre-preg epoxy resin for maximum strength. By combining carbon, aramid fiber, and fiberglass layers, the shell delivers lightweight yet ultra-protective performance with excellent energy dissipation, radial strength, and penetration resistance. The streamlined aerodynamic design includes specialized collarbone recesses fitted with PLASMA inserts, specifically designed to offer high-performance shock absorption and reduce the risk of injury during a slide.
Superior Protection and Visibility
The internal safety system features a multi-density EPS liner consisting of seven pieces in six densities, strategically positioned for optimal impact absorption. The EPS surface includes Alpinestars' specialized coating developed to deliver proven rotational impact protection. This low-friction slip plane mimics the brain’s natural defense mechanism, reducing rotational acceleration during an impact to help decrease the risk of brain injuries. For maximum situational awareness, the helmet offers an exceptional 220° peripheral vision and 57° vertical vision.
Aerodynamics and Ventilation
Designed for high-speed stability, the S-R7 delivers ultra-low drag to reduce neck strain. The shell features an integrated spoiler to minimize turbulence and lateral winglets to further enhance stability. The comprehensive ventilation system includes 10 ports:
- Six intake ports (three in the chin guard and three on top) regulated by a slidable mechanism.
- Four exhaust ports (two lateral and two rear) to efficiently extract heat.
- Chin vents designed to channel air toward the shield to prevent fogging and misting.
- Chin bar extractor vents to remove humid air from the interior.
Optical Precision
The helmet is equipped with an ECE 22.06 homologated, Optical Class 1 shield featuring double-sided anti-scratch treatment. The shield thickness is precision-engineered, varying from 1.6 mm on the sides to 2.6 mm in the center for maximum clarity and protection.
